The Dolomite Rotary Kiln is a high-temperature thermal processing system specifically designed for the calcination of dolomite (CaMg(CO₃)₂) into burnt dolomite (CaO·MgO). It delivers consistent reactivity, high bulk density, and low fuel consumption for steelmaking flux, refractory production, and magnesium extraction.
Dolomite feed (10–50 mm) enters the cold end of the inclined rotating cylinder. As the kiln rotates, material moves slowly toward the discharge end, counter-current to the hot gas flow (1300–1500°C). The calcination reaction occurs:
CaMg(CO₃)₂ → CaO·MgO + 2CO₂↑
Precise control of temperature retention time ensures complete decarbonation without overburning or dusting. Cooled product exits via a sealed discharge hood.
